25 years of experience in the design and construction of earth-integrated dwellings.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Moreland has an unusual academic background, including degrees in mathematics (physics minor, TCU), architecture (UTEX & UC Berkeley), advanced studies in structural analysis (Civil Engineering, UTEX), Ph.D. fields in mathematical economics, organizational analysis, and architecture (UC, B, no dissertation, no Ph.D. degree.)

He was a faculty member at Pennsylvania State University and a tenured faculty member at the University of Texas at Arlington. He left academic life to pursue full-time his interest in earth-integrated architecture in 1980. He served as architect and concrete contractor for a series of earth-integrated dwellings throughout Texas.
